Petition filed for bail of former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, accused in land scam, hearing to be held on Tuesday

Ranchi: Former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, accused in the money laundering case related to the 8.5 acre land scam of Badgai area, on Monday filed a bail petition in the PMLA special court of Ranchi through his advocate. His petition will be heard in the special court on Tuesday. On January 31, 2024, ED had arrested Hemant Soren in a land-related money laundering case. He is still in Hotwar jail of Ranchi.

Hemant Soren is in jail in land scam
In this case, a few days ago, ED had arrested Mohammad Saddam, who had prepared fake land documents. The court has taken cognizance of the ED prosecution complaint in the land scam case related to Hemant Soren. Hemant Soren is lodged in Ranchi’s Hotwar jail since 31 January 2024 in the land scam.

Architect Vinod Singh filed anticipatory bail petition
Here, in the case related to land scam, architect Vinod Singh has filed an anticipatory bail petition in the special court of PMLA. This petition will be heard on Tuesday. The court has taken cognizance of ED’s prosecution complaint in the case of 8.5 acres of land in Badgai area. To avoid arrest by ED, an anticipatory bail petition has been filed in the court on behalf of Vinod Singh. In this case, Hemant Soren and Revenue Sub-Inspector of Badgai Zone Bhanu Pratap Prasad are currently in judicial custody in Birsa Munda Central Jail.

High Court gave permission to withdraw the petition
At the same time, after hearing the criminal writ (havious corpus) petition filed by the Jharkhand High Court in the case of the then Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren missing from his residence for more than 40 hours after going to Delhi, he gave permission to withdraw the petition. . This case was heard in the division bench of Justice Rangan Mukhopadhyay and Justice Deepak Roshan. Considering the request of the applicant, permission was given to withdraw the petition.
