Permission received from Calcutta High Court, Sujoy Krishna Bhadra will be able to get treatment in SSKM or private hospital

Sujaykrishna Bhadra alias ‘Kalighater Kaku’, arrested in the teacher recruitment case in West Bengal, may undergo surgery in a private hospital. Sujoy Krishna Bhadra has got permission from the court for his treatment. Calcutta High Court Justice Tirthankar Ghose ordered that he could be treated at SSKM or a private hospital of his choice in Kolkata. The court has given this order on the basis of the ED report submitted by the court. On Wednesday, the ED told the court that Sujoy Krishna Bhadra needed immediate surgery. The court allowed him to be treated in the hospital with complete security. Jail authorities have been instructed to maintain tight security during the operation and treatment. Apart from the security of the jail, Justice Ghosh has also ordered the presence of central force in the hospital.

The High Court had ordered the ED to set up a medical board

Last Thursday, the Calcutta High Court ordered the ED to set up a medical board for Sujaykrishna’s medical examination. Instructions were also given to constitute the Medical Board by Wednesday. After receiving the report of the Medical Board, the ED said that they have no objection to Sujaykrishna’s surgery in a private hospital.

Coincidentally, Sujaykrishna, caught in the recruitment corruption case, is suffering from heart disease. He wanted to go to a private hospital for treatment. But the ED wants to get him treated at SSKM Hospital. The court also wanted to know the reason for ED’s objection in this regard. Justice asked the Central Investigation Agency that where is the problem in treatment in private hospitals? The judge also remarked that everyone may have their own likes and dislikes about hospitals. After this, he ordered the ED to constitute a medical board and conduct a health check-up of him.

The lawyer said that the need for bypass surgery

Earlier, Sujoy’s lawyer told the court that three ‘blockages’ have been found in his client’s arteries. Bypass surgery may be required. That’s why Sujoy wanted to get treated in a private hospital in Kolkata. But the ED said that they are in favor of getting Sujoy’s treatment done at SSKM. The central agency also wanted to consult the doctors there by sending his health related documents to Delhi MS.
