Suzuki Flying Car: The dream of a flying car now seems to be coming true, Suzuki Motor has started manufacturing its first flying car. This flying car was displayed by Maruti Suzuki during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. This fully electric and automated Skycar is being developed in collaboration with Japan-based flying car startup Skydrive. The startup is using Suzuki’s facility in Iwata City. Suzuki and Sky Drive signed an agreement in October last year to develop a flying car that could serve as an air taxi in urban areas.

The project is part of Suzuki’s initiative to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. Suzuki is working to make air mobility practical with a production capacity of 100 such models every year. The range of the flying car is 15 minutes during which it promises to travel about 15 km. Skycar will have the ability to fly with two passengers. It flies with the help of 12 motors and rotors. The fastest speed of the flying car is about 100 km per hour. The company plans to build a bigger and better flying car by 2031 that will be able to fly carrying three passengers and offer a range of 40 km.

The flying car showcased in India earlier this year is a prototype version of the model that is currently being manufactured by Suzuki at its Comfort facility in Japan. Suzuki also plans to bring flying car in India. The company has recently signed an agreement with India-based Infotech Enterprises for joint development of its flying vehicle. The agreement between the two will allow the Japan-based flying car maker to leverage the engineering ecosystem of talent and technology in India. However, there is no specific timeframe for when India expects its first flying cars to enter service.
