People remained confused on Maldives and Lakshadweep, Central Government took a big decision, a new airport will be built here.

The eyes of the whole world are fixed on the Lakshadweep and Maldives dispute. At the same time, the Indian government is working on a different plan. Government of India has come out with a different plan regarding Lakshadweep. It is reported that the Central Government is working towards building an airport on Minicoy Island of Lakshadweep. According to a report in news magazine India Today, the central government is planning to build an airport in Lakshadweep. Along with commercial planes, military flights will also fly in it.

According to the report of India Today, earlier there was a proposal to build an airfield here only for military use, but later it was modified and it is being agreed to develop it for commercial aircraft also. It is worth noting that the purpose of building a military airport here is that this airport can be used against the enemies during more surveillance and adverse situations. The government had earlier also proposed to build a new airport on Minicoy Island. But now preparations are underway to develop it as a joint airfield.

security will become stronger
Construction of airport on Lakshadweep will give India a strategic edge from security point of view. It will become easier for the Indian Army to monitor the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. Apart from this, tourism will also get a boost due to the presence of a commercial airport. It is noteworthy that at present there is an airstrip on Agatti Island of Lakshadweep. But not all types of aircraft can operate on this airstrip.

It is noteworthy that after the objectionable statements made by some Maldivian ministers on PM Modi recently, the relations between India and Maldives have turned sour. His statements are being condemned everywhere. According to media reports, the government has dismissed the ministers who made the statements. At the same time, after the rhetoric and India’s opposition, the entire Maldives is on the back foot. Opposition parties in Maldives are attacking the government for such statements. Maldives’ tourism department has also come to its knees. Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) has said that it strongly condemns such derogatory comments.
