People of Bihar are getting work opportunities in Uttarakhand, know why workers go to Uttarakhand to earn livelihood.

Be it education, job or daily wage labour, many people of Bihar have turned towards Uttarakhand today. Once upon a time, people of Bihar used to go to Uttarakhand to get education, but after the development of pharma industry there, apart from getting education, people also started going in search of employment. Today, a large number of people of Bihar are involved in this industry. Apart from this, many projects are going on for the development of infrastructure in Uttarakhand. In such a situation, the demand for laborers has increased on a large scale here. Laborers from Bihar got work here on a large scale. Today there is hardly any project going on in which Bihari laborers have not got work. Among the 40 laborers trapped in the accident-hit tunnel for the last 17 days, four are from Bihar.

Pharma industry wooed Biharis

In Uttarakhand, people of Bihar have got maximum employment in the pharmaceutical industry. A large number of people from Bihar work in about 1123 pharma industries in areas like Selaqui, Bhagwanpur of Roorkee, Haridwar, Kashipur, Sitarganj, Mohabbewala of Dehradun, Rishikesh etc. Apart from this, there is a good number of Biharis in tourism and health related sectors also. Along with this, 61 industries related to furnace oil and petro oil operating in Uttarakhand are about to be completed. People of Bihar are already engaged in their construction, people of Bihar will also be ahead in getting employment in these industries. Today, people from Bihar constitute the largest number of migrant laborers working in the construction sector of Uttarakhand. Even in the service sector, the share of Biharis is highest among the migrants. Pushkar Singh Dhami says that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is progressing rapidly in the field of employment generation. According to his statement, the state government is determined to make the third decade of the 21st century the decade of Uttarakhand.

35 percent migrant laborers in the country

Uttarakhand number two in the country in employment generation

A major reason for people of Bihar moving towards Uttarakhand has been the increased employment opportunities in Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand has taken a huge leap in general employment generation. With a growth of 28.6 percent, Uttarakhand has come at second position among the top 5 states of the country. This has been revealed in the report of Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has given credit for this achievement to the guidance of PM Narendra Modi’s leadership. Last year, from January to June 2022, 1,03,411 people were involved in formal employment, while this year in the same period this number increased to 1,33,023. This is about 28.6 percent. On the other hand, Assam is at number one position in terms of proportion. Although Bihar is at third place.
