Pension of retired personnel is more than salary in Bihar University, budget of 940 crores approved

Muzaffarpur. In BRA Bihar University, more than salary is spent on retirement benefits including pension of retired teacher-employees. In the financial year 2024-25, the proposal for salary, pension and other expenses to be incurred at the university level was approved by the Finance Committee with some amendments. The Finance Department had prepared a total proposal of Rs 927 crore, but during the discussion it was agreed to increase the budget in some items. Finance officer Vinod Singh told that there will be a budget of about Rs 940 crore now. The revised budget will be sent to the government in a week.

Estimated budget prepared for 2024-25 was kept

On Sunday, a meeting of the Finance Committee was held at his residence under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shailendra Kumar Chaturvedi. In this, an estimated budget prepared for the financial year 2024-25 was kept. It was approved by the committee with some amendments. The members were Dr. Narayan Das, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Dr. Kanupriya and Dr. Sunil Kumar along with Registrar Prof. Sanjay Kumar in the meeting. The finance officer told that the budget of all the universities is approved in the cabinet meeting in October. For this, the approved estimated budget has to be sent from the Finance Committee in September itself.

The final budget will be sent after getting approved from the Senate.

It has been told by the government that after getting approved from the Finance Committee, send the estimated budget. After this, the final budget will be sent after getting it approved by the Syndicate and the Senate. Let us tell you that earlier there used to be a delay in getting the budget approved by the Syndicate and the Senate. Due to this many schemes were affected. Now, on the basis of the estimated budget, the amount will be allocated for the universities from the cabinet, then the amount will be available from the beginning of the financial year itself.

In PAT teachers will get honorarium equal to competitive exams

Muzaffarpur. Now the teachers doing duty in the PhD admission test conducted at the university level will get the same honorarium as other competitive examinations including B.Ed entrance examination. This was agreed upon in the examination board meeting chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Shailendra Chaturvedi. There was dissatisfaction among the teachers regarding the honorarium for PET duty. There was a demand to increase it. This proposal was put forward by the examination department in the board meeting, which was approved.

Controller of Examinations Prof TK Dey said that matters related to the examination results of the students were also kept in the agenda. Some students had complained about less marks, on which it was decided that their copy will be seen again. At the same time, it has been decided to release the result as per the order of the court. Registrar Prof. Sanjay Kumar, DSW Dr. Abhay Kumar Singh, Dr. Satish Kumar Rai etc. were present in the meeting.

Committee will be formed to monitor the purchase of heavy items

A committee will be formed to monitor the purchase of electrical goods in the university. Vice Chancellor Prof. Shailendra Kumar Chaturvedi gave instructions regarding this in the meeting of the Sales and Purchase Committee. It was decided to start the tender process for purchasing blank answer sheets for the examination department. It was said that if purchasing from the old agency, the old rate will have to be paid. In such a situation the tender process should be started. The committee approved the proposal to purchase a vehicle for the examination department and the proposal to purchase two air conditioners for the Vice-Chancellor’s residence. Other proposals including stationery purchase were also approved.
