Let us tell you that PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Salman Naseer had met the ICC Executive Board in Ahmedabad during the World Cup itself. During this, both the PCB officials had discussed hosting the Champions Trophy to be held in February-March 2025. The PCB source said, ‘Pakistani officials discussed the possibility of BCCI again refusing to send its team to Pakistan. It was made clear that under no circumstances should the ICC take a unilateral decision on the tournament. PCB officials said that in the last two years many top teams have toured Pakistan without any security concerns. He also made it clear that if India does not send its team for the tournament and its matches are held in another country, then ICC will have to compensate Pakistan for this.
