Patna Municipal Corporation It will launch a special campaign for payment of property tax and separate disposal of dry and wet waste. For this, the corporation has started a one-month special campaign Mission 7 to 11. Under the campaign which will run from January 22 to February 29, the Municipal Corporation team will roam in all the wards. Public awareness messages will also be given through jingles on door to door garbage vehicles and other vehicles of the Municipal Corporation that reach the common people every day.

Property tax collection till 11 am

Under this mission, 02 teams have been deployed in the zones formed in all the zones of Patna Municipal Corporation. For this, training is also being given to the team members. Members of each team will be in their allotted ward from 7 am to 11 am. property tax We will meet the landlords who have outstanding dues and ensure recovery of tax.

Apart from this, after identifying the buildings and establishments which are outside the scope of property tax of Municipal Corporation, the people of the team will ensure that the said building or establishment is brought under the purview of property tax by filling the prescribed self-tax calculation form online or offline.

List of more than five thousand properties

In the first phase, the RA team (Headquarters) has provided the list of buildings or establishments having property tax arrears of more than Rs 5,000. Along with this, owners of buildings/establishments will be requested to put wet and dry waste in door-to-door vehicles of different corporations.

The target of property tax collection for each team during the mission has been set at Rs 1 crore. To achieve the above target, the daily target of each team is fixed to recover from 10 defaulters and assess 10 new property taxes every day. This daily target will be minimum. If the team is capable, it can also make recovery and new assessment from more than 10 defaulters per day.

One and a half percent fine will have to be paid along with property tax

Let us tell you that in the last year 2023, Patna Municipal Corporation had collected tax of more than Rs 120 crore. At the same time, the target of tax collection has been increased this year. The corporation had also given concession to those who deposited tax on time. The corporation had given a discount of 5 percent to those who made deposits from April 1 to June 30. After this, time was given till September 30 to deposit the tax without any exemption or penalty. At the same time, from October 1 onwards, a penalty of one and a half percent will be charged on property tax.
