On Tuesday, there was traffic jam from Gandhi Maidan, Ashok Rajpath to Rajiv Nagar. Due to this people had to face problems. This jam situation started in the city after 2 o’clock in the day and continued till evening.
There was a program of Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party at Gandhi Maidan Gyan Bhawan, due to which there was a problem of traffic jam in Gandhi Maidan area. There was already a lot of vehicle pressure at JP Golambar and Ramgulam Chowk. But as soon as there were school holidays at 2 o’clock in the day and school buses started leaving, the traffic jam became even worse.
Jam problem arose in Gandhi Maidan, Kargil Chowk, Exhibition Road, Patna-Danapur Road, Bakarganj, Kadamkuan, Machhua Toli, Rajendra Nagar, Nala Road, Ashok Rajpath. There was a long queue of vehicles on Buddha Marg and the lane going to Chirayatand on Mithapur flyover was also jammed.
The effect of the jam was such that it took 45 minutes to reach Children Park from Kargil Chowk. Whereas this route is only two minutes. The traffic jam continued in Gandhi Maidan area till late evening. The traffic police somehow evacuated the vehicles.
Similarly, there was a jam situation for more than two hours under Rajiv Nagar flyover. It took an hour to reach flyover Rajivnagar Chowk from Indrapuri on Atal Path. Whereas on normal days this distance is covered in just two minutes.
It is said that when school buses and small vehicles came out on the road, the pressure of vehicles increased under Rajivnagar flyover. The traffic policemen present there did not pay attention and the vehicle came from all sides and stopped under the flyover.
Vehicles come from five-six sides at Rajivnagar Chowk of Atal Path flyover. Vehicles from Patliputra, Digha, Rajiv Nagar and Mahesh Nagar areas turn towards their destination from Rajiv Nagar Chowk. But while trying to move ahead, the traffic jam situation became terrible. Many school buses and ambulances as well as police vehicles got stuck in it. The number of traffic police was very less, hence they could not control.
Meanwhile, the personnel of Dial 112 team came down on the road and helped the vehicles to get out of the traffic jam. Traffic SP Puran Jha also came to know about the matter and he deployed regulation teams 4, 11 and 12. After this, the jam situation became normal after about two hours.
