Patna High Court rejects RJD leader Saroj Yadav’s election petition

Patna High Court has rejected the election petition of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Saroj Yadav, who lost to BJP candidate Raghavendra Pratap Singh in the elections from Badhara assembly constituency of Bhojpur district. Apart from this, the High Court has also imposed a fine of Rs 25 thousand on Saroj Yadav. High Court Judge Arun Kumar Jha has given this decision while hearing election petition number 28/2020.

Justice Arun Kumar Jha rejected the election petition filed by Saroj Yadav saying that the allegations made by her against the BJP MLA have nothing to do with the facts. Even after a long time of filing the petition, Saroj Yadav did not present evidence during the hearing and this was the reason that not only her election petition was rejected by the Patna High Court, but the High Court also criticized the High Court for filing the petition on the basis of wrong facts. It has also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on RJD’s defeated MLA Saroj Yadav.

Saroj Yadav had accused 10 people

Let us tell you that after losing the election from Badhara in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Saroj Yadav had filed an election petition in the Patna High Court along with elected BJP MLA Raghavendra Pratap Singh, candidates Asha Devi, Siyamati Devi, Raghupati Yadav. A total of 10 people including Gupteshwar Dubey, Manji Kumar Sah, Ram Tahal Chaudhary were accused. Now the High Court has rejected this petition considering it baseless.
