Patna Crime News: Within a month, the police has busted a gang that snatched chains from seven people including Satakshi Sahay, daughter of former DGP Neelmani. Patna Police has arrested five vicious members of the gang. Among the snatchers arrested are Ashish Priyadarshi alias Ashu, Ma Akhtar, Santesh Kumar, Sanjay Kumar alias Gaerki and buyer Ranjit Kumar Saini. Many shocking things have also come to light during the interrogation. They used to do snatching to give expensive gifts to their girlfriends.
Detained during vehicle checking
City SP said that after continuous incidents of chain snatching and robbery, the police was scanning the CCTV cameras. Two bikes were visible among all the criminals. Investigation revealed that a bike was stolen from Alamganj police station area. On Friday, the police of Kadamkuan police station was checking vehicles near Premchand Gelumber. Meanwhile, Santosh and Ashu were caught. The rest were caught on his information.
A businessman was also among the five arrested
A businessman is also included among the five arrested criminals. According to the information, jewelery businessman Ranjit Kumar, the buyer of the snatched chain, was also arrested by the police. Apart from Rs 16,500 cash, about Rs 5 lakh worth of gold and silver jewellery, three pistols, four cartridges, four mobiles and two bikes used in the incident were recovered from the miscreants.
Chains used to rush to give gifts to debauchers and girlfriends
The arrested fodder snatcher used to snatch chains for debauchery and to give gifts to his girlfriend. These miscreants had carried out seven incidents of chain snatching in Ketwali, Kadamkuan, Sachivalaya, Gardnibagh police station area in one month. The leader of this gang is Shiv Gop Dame. He is absconding. All are professional chain snatchers.
Gang leader who robbed truck driver arrested
Here, Patna Police has arrested a criminal who extorted money from the truck driver. There are three people involved in this gang. During the arrest, two criminals fled from the spot, while the police of Jakkanpur and Gardanibagh police stations arrested Amit from Vigrahpur. Gautam and Pintu ran away. All three are residents of Dheerachak. On Friday night, truck driver Mantesh Kumar from UP was going from UP to Hajipur with goods. Meanwhile, Amit, Gaitam and Pintu parked the auto in front of the truck and said that they had pushed the auto. Later all three beat him and started demanding Rs 35 thousand from him. Meanwhile the police arrived and arrested Amit.
Two arrested for assaulting and robbing a railway passenger
Police arrested the two men who assaulted and robbed passenger Rajeev Kumar, traveling in AC coach B-2 of Himgiri Express 12331. Among those arrested are Bittu Kumar and Prakash Kumar of Arrah. A case was registered by the passenger in Ara GRP. After the incident, the Railway Police identified the two with the help of CCTV cameras and caught them. Others are absconding. The incident happened on 6 December. Both of them unauthorizedly sat on Rajiv’s berth in the same coach which they protested against. When the train reached Arrah, both of them called others and beat them and looted the bag and chain.
Cheating of seven lakhs in the name of land, three arrested
In another case in Patna, the police have arrested three people including a woman who defrauded a teacher, Shobha Shukla, resident of Rajiv Nagar police station area, of Rs 7 lakh in the name of land. The accused include Vinay Kumar Singh, Manorama Singh and Tutu. The teacher had registered a case against all of them in the police station on 23 November. The police station officer said that the case has been found correct. All three were arrested from Rajiv Nagar Road No. 25B.
