Patna Book Fair begins at Gandhi Maidan, special programs will be organized every day

Patna. CRD Book Fair started from Friday at Gandhi Maidan. Even before the inauguration, everyone from school children to book lovers came here on the very first day and visited various stalls. This fair, which will run till 12th December, was formally inaugurated by Nari Gunjan Sanstha’s Padmashree Sudha Varghese, Gynecologist Padmashree Dr. Shanti Rai, Health Department’s Joint Secretary IAS Alankrita Pandey and Indu Devi, the first member of the book fair. Dr. Shanti Rai said in his life that books have the ability to lead common people towards goodness. Book lovers wait for this fair. She likes to read books and she also waits for this book fair throughout the year.

Protests against violence against women

Padmashree Sudha Varghese said that we protest against violence against women. Have worked here for the Dalit and Mahadalit community for the last 35 years. Right now she is working with the Manjhi community. They are running two hostels and special schools in which more than 3000 girl students study. IAS Alankrita Pandey said that men and women are the two wheels of the bicycle of society. Recalling Gangubai’s dialogue, she says that if we have Kali, Lakshmi and Saraswati within us then there is no shortage. The theme of the fair is women leadership but in this we should have included the contribution of men who have worked for the upliftment of women. This would have talked about equality. Even today, women are managing their home and outside well, in such a situation, they should get the support of family and society along with their husbands.

Daughters of Nari Gunjan Sanstha gave a presentation

After the inaugural session, students of classes VII, VIII and IX of Nari Gunjan Sanstha sang and presented songs. He gave love to his daughter like two sons so that life should come out and the second presentation was on education in which he sang Shiksha ek precious ratna hai doo sandesha gali-gali. Rekha Bharti, Amita Jha, Ratneshwar Kumar Singh, Shweta, Ruby etc. were present on the occasion.

Free entry for school children

Entry for the general public in the fair is Rs 20. There is free entry for school children and college students. This time, to inspire the youth, the names of the gate, block, stage etc. of Patna Book Fair have been kept especially keeping women leadership in mind. This time the names Prabhavati Devi Main Gate, Sharda Sinha Theatre, Meera Kumar Manch, Baua Devi Art Gallery, Lieutenant Commander Shivangi Singh Manch and Shreyasi Singh Administrative Building etc. have been kept. Its purpose is that today’s youth can connect themselves with these leaders and get inspired. Hindi, English, Urdu and Maithili books are available in the stalls set up here. Apart from books of famous litterateurs, writers and writers of Bihar, competitive papers, practice papers for children of class 10th-12th, books related to the Constitution are available.

Documentary and short films will attract readers

This time, documentary films and short films will be shown under the Patna Book Fair Film Festival. Documentary films on Kisan Chachi, Womaniya, Ahilyabai Aholkar, Jhansi Ki Rani, Arunima Sinha, Kalpana Chawla, Deepika Kumar, Godavari Dutta, Kumkum etc. will be shown. Short films like Signature, Kashmakash, The Day After Every Day, Ghar Ki Murgi, Devi, Nitishastra, Vikalp, Baatein, The Purple Scarves, The Broken Table, Beti etc. will be shown. This program has the support of Cine Society. Along with this, there will also be discussion on films. The conversation included people associated with the film world, Suman Kumar Sinha (Regent Cinema Hall), Dr. Jaimangal Dev, Vinod Anupam, Sushil Kumar, Dr. Javed Akhtar Khan, Anant, Minati Chaklanavis, Rajesh Raj (film maker), Prashant Ranjan, Punj Prakash, etc. There will be live interaction with the audience. Apart from this, street drama will be presented. In this, street plays will be presented by organizations like Sutradhar, Om, Atulya Art, Abhiyan, etc.

The campus will be buzzing with recitation of poems

Under the famous poet Yuva Swar programme, young poets and cultural workers of Patna will recite poems of world famous poets of India. Famous poets include Nirala, Muktibodh, Shamsher, Dinkar, Subhadra Kumari Chauhan, Mahdevi Verma, Trilochan, Kedarnath Aggarwal, Alok Dhanwa, Arun Kamal, Faiz, Qazi Nazrul Islam, Jeevananand Das, Namdev Dhasal, Omprakash Valmiki, Anamika, Rajesh Joshi, Nagarjuna. Poems of Kedarnath Singh, Gorakh Pandey will be read. Medha Patkar and other celebrities will raise the voice of women leadership

Free health camp will be organized

A free health camp will be organized by Sanjeevani Eye Hospital in Patna Book Fair. The hospital has arrangements for eye camp and first aid for the patients. On one hand, books of great litterateurs and writers are present in book stalls.
