Patalkot Express fire: 2 coaches of Patalkot Express destroyed in Agra, 3 passengers injured, passengers saved by jumping from the train

Agra : Two coaches of Patalkot Express train (Train No 14623) caught fire in Agra district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday afternoon, injuring at least three passengers. The train was going from Firozpur Cantonment in Punjab towards Seoni in Madhya Pradesh, when at around 3.45 pm the engine caught fire in the third and fourth coaches. This accident happened near gate number 487 C of Agra Jhansi railway section. The nearest railway station to the incident site is Bhadai. It comes under Malpura police station area. Sonam Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), Agra Police Commissionerate, told PTI that two passengers were injured and were sent to the hospital. “Five fire tenders and a forensic team have reached the spot,” Mr Kumar said. Officials said that two coaches of Patalkot Express train caught fire in Agra district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday afternoon, injuring at least two passengers. He told that the train was going from Firozpur Cantonment in Punjab towards Seoni in Madhya Pradesh, when at around 3.45 pm, fire broke out in the third and fourth compartment of the engine. Agra Railway Division PRO Prashasti Srivastava said that the cause of the fire was not immediately known.

PRO Prashasti Srivastava while talking to the media said, “An incident of fire has come to light in Patalkot Express between Bhandai and Jajau in NCR (North Central Railway), Agra Division. Two coaches have been completely burnt. Since two adjacent coaches have also been affected, a total of four coaches have been separated from the train. The situation is under control. According to railway sources, Bhandai station is about 10 km away from Agra station and the fire broke out when the train left from Bhandai for the next station Jajau. According to railway officials, the train was stopped when smoke was detected and it was immediately evacuated. Was done.
