A similar incident has recently come to light in Vande Bharat Express train also. Let us tell you that this irregularity has been seen in the packed food given to railway passengers. According to the information revealed, the passenger with whom this incident happened was traveling from Rani Kamlapati to Jabalpur Junction. The passenger got a big shock when he found a dead cockroach in the packed food provided by the Indian Railways. As soon as the traveler found a dead cockroach in his food, he immediately clicked its picture and shared those pictures on social media. Later these pictures started being shared by the people and these pictures went viral. When the pictures went viral, Indian Railways also gave its reaction on it. According to the information revealed, after landing at Jabalpur railway station, the passenger lodged an official complaint with the West Central Railway. About two days after making the complaint, he shared pictures of this incident on the social media platform ‘X’.

Passenger Shubhendu Keshari, who was traveling in Vande Bharat Express on February 1, was left wide-eyed when he saw a dead cockroach in the packed food served by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). He shared pictures of the food and the dead cockroaches inside it on social media platforms. According to the information revealed, Shubhendu had ordered non-veg thali from IRCTC. He found a dead cockroach in this plate. Shubhendu also shared pictures of this thali on social media platform X. You can also see a dead cockroach in these pictures. The passenger lodged a complaint at Jabalpur station regarding the quality of food provided by the Railways and also shared pictures giving information about the incident. Sharing the pictures, Shubhendu wrote that, I was traveling from train number 20173 RKMP to JBP on 1/02/2024, I was shocked to see a dead cockroach in the food packet given by them.

Railways replied

As soon as information about the incident was received, IRCTC immediately reacted. The officials apologized to the passengers for their experience. IRCTC further said that the fine is being collected from the company to which the contract for cooking was given. Writing further, IRCTC says, Sir, we are very sorry for the experience you had. The matter has been taken seriously and a heavy penalty has been imposed on the concerned service provider. Apart from this, monitoring has been strengthened to ensure that this does not happen again.” The matter did not stop here, Indian Railways also issued a tweet in which it responded to the tweet made by Shubhendu. While replying to the tweet, he said That, your complaint has been registered and the complaint number has been sent to your mobile number through SMS.
