Police arrested these accused in the case of breach in Parliament security

Police had arrested Manoranjan D, Sagar Sharma, Amol Shinde and Neelam Devi on Wednesday in the case of lapse in security of Parliament. On Thursday, the police presented all the accused in the special court of Special Judge for NIA cases Hardeep Kaur.

Terrorism charges against all four accused

Apart from sections of the Indian Penal Code, the accused have been charged under the anti-terrorism law UAPA. Prosecutors charged the four arrested men with terrorism, saying they attempted to instill fear. The prosecution said that the accused tried to spread fear and terror. Delhi Police told the court that breaching the security of Parliament was a planned attack.

What happened on 13 December 2023

On Wednesday, the anniversary of the 2001 terror attack on Parliament, a major security breach came to light when two people jumped inside the House from the visitors’ gallery during the Lok Sabha proceedings and fired yellow paint through a ‘cane’. Spread smoke. Both were caught immediately after the incident. Shortly after this incident, a man and a woman were arrested for protesting outside the Parliament House with ‘canes’ that emit yellow and red smoke. The two persons who jumped into the house were identified as Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D. The two people arrested from outside the Parliament House have been identified as Neelam (42), a resident of village Ghaso Khurd in Jind district of Haryana, and Amol Shinde (25), a resident of Latur (Maharashtra).
