Palamu: Hariharganj businessman shot by unknown criminals in Chhatarpur, NH-98 blocked in protest

A businessman was shot by unknown criminals in Chhatarpur of Palamu district. The incident took place in front of Honda Sai Show Room in Japla Road, Chhatarpur. Shubham Kumar, 28, son of grocery businessman Shankar Prasad Gupta of Hariharganj, who was sitting in a car parked in front of the showroom, was shot by three unknown criminals who came on a bike. After shooting Shubham, the criminals fled towards Japla. Shubham was hit by five bullets in his chest and stomach. In a seriously injured condition, the local people took him to the sub-divisional hospital, where he was given first aid. After first aid, seeing his serious condition, he was referred to Medininagar. Eyewitnesses told that on Thursday (January 18) at around 3:45 pm, grocery businessman Shubham Kumar Gupta of Hariharganj had come to Chhatarpur in his car (JH 01 DJ 2550) to do takada. Meanwhile, he had parked the car on the roadside outside the Sai Honda showroom on Japla Road and was sitting on the driving seat. Meanwhile, three masked criminals came on a blue bike and stopped the bike near the car and all three criminals took out their pistol and fired five bullets at Shubham. In this, three bullets hit Shubham’s chest. One bullet hit his right rib and one bullet hit the closed glass of the car.

The criminals carried out this incident amidst dense population, just 100 meters away from Chhatarpur police station. Due to this there is anger among local businessmen and people. There is also an atmosphere of panic. Local people allege that the police are busy day and night recovering vehicles on the four-lane road. People say that criminals have become unbridled in this city of Palamu district. Angry people have demanded the arrest of the criminals who opened fire by blocking NH-98 near the police station. It has also been said that the killers of Naresh Thakur of Madanpur should be arrested as soon as possible. Recently Naresh Thakur was murdered. His killers are still away from the police.
