Pakistan elections: Imran Khan’s party refused to join hands with PPP and PML-N, said- will form government alone

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the party of jailed former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, has today i.e. on Friday refused to form an alliance with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). PTI has said that it is in a position to form the federal government on its own. It is noteworthy that the Election Commission has so far announced the results of 139 National Assembly seats, out of which independent candidates supported by Khan’s party have won 55 seats. PML-N has won 43 seats, while PPP has won 35 seats. To achieve majority, 169 seats out of 336 are required, which also includes seats reserved for women and minorities.
