Lucknow: The Government of India has announced the Padma Awards on the eve of Republic Day. Babu Ram Yadav of UP will be honored with Padma Shri. Babu Ram, resident of Moradabad, UP, is 74 years old. He has over 6 decades of experience in creating intricate brass artworks using traditional techniques. He has displayed his work in more than 40 exhibitions globally. He has given training to new artisans especially leprosy patients. He has trained about 1000 people so far. He also provides financial assistance to the artisan community in the name of Artisan Light organization. Apart from Babu Ram Yadav, 33 other people of the country will be honored with the Padma Award.
