Oxygen plant built at a cost of crores in Patna, could not start even after one year

[ad_1]

Anand Tiwari, Patna. Corona is once again on the threshold, more than 50 cases are being registered daily in Patna district. However, due to lack of technicians, the oxygen generation plant in government hospitals in many rural areas of the district has not yet been operational. Especially the Fatuha, Bakhtiyarpur and Badh Community Health Centers of the district are included, where even after one year, the oxygen plant could not be started till date. If experts are to be believed, a plant was installed in all the CHC and sub-divisional hospitals of the district apart from the medical college hospitals at a cost ranging from Rs 80 lakh to Rs 1 crore 10 lakh. However, plants are working at places like draft etc.

Technicians come to Bakhtiyarpur only for mock drill

With the joint efforts of the Bihar Health Department and the Prime Minister’s Care Fund, the oxygen plant built at a cost of about one crore 10 lakh rupees in the Bakhtiyarpur CHC premises has become just an object of beauty. The plant which was built in the month of April last year itself has not been able to start operation even after one year. However, oxygen supply is made available to patients by ordering cylinders from outside or through electronic oxygen concentrators. The great thing is that when the order to do mockdrill comes from the Health Department, the work of mockdrill is completed by calling a private or hired technician. PHC in-charge Dr. Amresh Sinha says that the demand for a technician to run the oxygen plant has been made in writing. Apart from this, the generator has also been asked to connect the entire CHC. It will be started after getting the technician.

30 bed hospital in Fatuha, 12 patients admitted, plant stalled

A total of 30 beds have been made for patients in Fatuha Community Health Center. Every day 10 to 12 patients come here for admission. Especially there are more cases of delivery here. Last year, a PSA oxygen plant was also set up here. For this, 100 KV generators were also ordered by spending lakhs of rupees. But this plant is closed due to lack of maintenance. There is no technician to run it. Apart from this, there is an X-ray machine for examination, but there is no technician to operate that machine. In such a situation, the investigation has come to a complete standstill for the last one year and three months. Patients have to get tested from outside by spending expensive prices. The in-charge Dr. Ganpat Mandal says that a demand has been made for a technician to run both oxygen and X-rays. Hope the problem that is there will be fixed soon.

Oxygen plant dying in flood sub-divisional hospital

In all the waves of Kovid, the sub-divisional hospital administration of the flood is crying for the technicians to start the oxygen plant. According to the responsible officials here, correspondence was made several times to the civil surgeon, Patna, to start the plant. Despite this, the technician related to starting the plant has not yet been made available. If the experts here are to be believed, then if the plant becomes operational, then more than 500 LMP of oxygen can be produced here per month. In such a situation, the people here say that it is not known how long the oxygen plant built for the patients will be operational, but due to lack of maintenance, the oxygen plant built at a cost of lakhs of rupees may die.

What is civil surgeon

Civil surgeon Dr. Shravan Kumar said that for the oxygen plant to run properly, along with maintenance, mockdrills are also being conducted. On the other hand, if the oxygen plant is closed due to any reason, it will be started in any case. For this I will talk to BMICL.
