OT equipment purchased eight years ago in RIMS Dental College, now being used – BollywoodWallah

Rajiv Pandey, Ranchi: The goods were purchased in the year 2016 for Operation Theater (OT) in RIMS Dental College, but due to non-construction of OT at that time, it remained lying in the store. Now that OT is being constructed, the said material is being used after eight years. OT goods were purchased for Rs 1.94 crore. Money was also paid to the agency on this account. This was revealed in the investigation report submitted by CAG to the government in the year 2020.

Photographs of the goods lying in the store were also attached in the CAG report. At the same time, the Health Department committee had also confirmed this in its investigation. Here, in the year 2023, a proposal was again brought by the Dental College Management regarding the construction of OT in the 55th meeting of RIMS GB. After consent in this, OT is being constructed. The same material is being used in this.

Goods worth Rs 17.85 lakh expired

Apart from equipment for Dental OT, other items worth Rs 17.85 lakh were purchased, which were to be used during surgery. But, due to the OT not being ready, these items got spoiled while in storage. This is also mentioned in the CAG report.

No action yet against three former directors

The role of three former directors and a dentist identified in the Dental College equipment scam was found suspicious. After this, RIMS management had sought clarification from everyone. Despite asking for clarification thrice, no action has been taken by the management.

Information has been received about irregularities in purchasing equipment in the Dental College. Senior doctors have been appointed to get information about the CAG report and the entire matter. Action will be taken as per rules on this.
