One withdrew nomination, now 14 candidates are in the fray

DM said that now 14 candidates are left in the election field. 22 candidates had filed nominations from Gaya Lok Sabha parliamentary constituency. In this, during scrutiny, nomination papers of seven candidates were rejected due to being incomplete. One candidate withdrew his nomination, leaving 14 candidates in the fray. Election symbols have been allotted to all the 14 candidates on the basis of their consent. DM said that the election symbol of Kumar Sarvjit, who is contesting from Rashtriya Janata Dal, Jitan Ram Manjhi from Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and Sushma Kumari from Bahujan Samaj Party, has already been allotted. DM said that out of the 14 remaining candidates in the election, two candidates, Kumar Sarvjeet and Jitan Ram Manjhi, already have security. Apart from these, four out of 12 candidates have applied keeping their security in mind. His application is being discussed. Flag marches and preventive action are being taken every day in such districts.

The process of conducting voting at the homes of disabled and elderly voters will begin from April 8.

DM said that the polling party will go to the homes of 275 disabled and elderly voters identified in the district to vote. Necessary steps have been taken in this regard. This process will be started from April 8. The concerned disabled and elderly voters have been informed in this regard. The polling party along with security forces will conduct voting through ballot paper at the homes of these disabled people and voters. Before this, all the candidates will be informed, so that they are aware of which voters’ houses the polling party is going to visit. He said that the guidelines issued by the Election Commission have been followed to identify such disabled and elderly voters.
