Ratu. Ratu police arrested Ranjan Yadav, a resident of Gandhinagar of Gonda police station area, from the litchi garden on Friday in connection with the brown sugar business in Navasoso, Chatakpur. About five grams of brown sugar in 22 packets was seized from him. It is said that the police had received information that some people were going to sell brown sugar in Navasoso in a white colored Scorpio (JH-01CF-1086). On information, DSP Arvind Kumar, CO Ravi Kumar, Police Inspector Shashibhushan Chaudhary reached the said spot. Scorpio reached there at around 3 o’clock. When the police tried to stop them, two people got down and started running away. The police chased and caught a young man. 22 bags of brown sugar were found from him. He told his name as Ranjan Yadav. Also, the name of one of the youths who ran away was named Sujit Yadav, while he had no information about the other one. During interrogation, Ranjan Yadav told the police that they have been buying brown sugar from Rohan Singh of Hatma and Santosh Paswan of Buxar for the last three years and selling it to the students of nearby schools and colleges for Rs 2,000 per packet. After the names of both the kingpins came up, the police started arresting the two absconding paddlers, Rohin Singh and Santosh Paswan.
