Shopkeepers hope that there will be better business this year compared to last year. Preparations are going on everywhere for the festival. Sweets of different flavors are being prepared in sweet shops. One such sweet is also being sold in the city, which costs Rs 51 thousand per kg. Even though this sweet is quite expensive, its special thing is that gold and silver work is applied on it. That’s why it has been named ‘Diwali Special Golden Sweet’.

There is a layer of gold and silver on the sweets

Amit Mankani, director of the sweet shop, said that it is coated with 24 carat gold and silver. Therefore its price is Rs 51 thousand per kg. Due to it being expensive, only 11 kg of this sweet will be sold. However, more sweets can be supplied on order. These sweets are being made in Patna by artisans who have come from Mumbai. The price of other sweets is Rs 700-6500 per kg.

This is how ‘Diwali Special Golden Sweets’ is made

The artisans who make the sweets say that apart from silver, saffron paste and gold work has been used in ‘Diwali Special Golden Sweets’. Along with this, dry fruits have been used in it. This sweet is being made in the form of a golden urn. There is demand for this sweet every year. People have already placed orders.

Demand for dry fruits and sugar free sweets is high

Traders associated with the sweets business say that during Dhanteras and Diwali, the business of sweets and dry fruits sweets in Patna will reach more than Rs 18 crore. Last year it was Rs 15 crore. Market expert Somesh Mankani says that the demand for dry fruits and sugar free sweets has increased. Gift packs of dry fruits are also being sold more. The demand for cashew barfi and cashew laddu is high. People are also liking home made chocolate.

Trend of packed sweets increasing, also available in gift pack

On Diwali, sweets made from dry fruits, not khova and chhena, are in great demand. People are also buying bakery items for themselves along with giving them as gifts. Sensing the new trend, packed sweets are also available in malls. On Diwali, people gift packets of sweets to their close ones. In such a situation, people like such sweets which remain safe for a long time.
