BIT Mesra’s 33rd convocation will be celebrated on October 1 at GP Birla Auditorium. This year, for the first time, degrees will be awarded simultaneously to 2818 students of the institute’s seven campuses – BIT Mesra, Patna, Deoghar, Lalpur Extension, Noida, Jaipur and University Polytechnic. This information was given by Dr. Sanjay Kumar Jha, Controller of Examinations of BIT Mesra on Tuesday.
He told that the ceremony will be held at GP Birla Auditorium located at BIT Mesra Main Campus. In this, Infosys co-founder Padmabhushan Senapati Krish Gopalakrishnan will address the students by giving degrees to 17 gold medalists as the chief guest. At the same time, the special guest will be Governor cum Chancellor CP Radhakrishnan. The event will start from 10:30 am. Dean Faculty Advisor Dr. Kunal Mukhopadhyay and Media Cell Incharge Dr. Kirti Abhishek were present on the occasion.
1365 students will get degree
A total of 1365 students of BIT Mesra session 2022-23 will be awarded degrees in the convocation. These include 821 UG, 498 PG and 46 PhD students. Apart from this, BIT Lalpur Extension total 429 (UG 323, PG 105 and PhD one), University Polytechnic BIT Mesra total 143 (Diploma 115 and UG 28), Off Campus Deoghar total 142, Patna total 383, Noida total 127 and total 229 students of Jaipur will be given degree.
These 17 students will get gold medal:
A total of 17 students of various courses included in the session 2022-23 will be awarded gold medals. Mahavadi Shree Shashank of CS, Kapil Kungwani of IT, Aman Singh of Mechanical Engg, Ayush Tripathi of Production Engg, Shreya Mankotia of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Aditi Sinha of B Pharmacy, Anmol Agarwal of BBA, Isha Gupta of BCA, BSc Animation & Multimedia and Poonam Kumari of BSc Medical Lab Technology.
