Oh My God 2 (OMG 2) has done well at the domestic box office, despite facing stiff competition from Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2. According to a report in Sacnilk.com, the film earned 12.7 crores on Sunday, a day after scoring a century at the box office.
OMG 2 stars Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in the lead roles and was released on 11 August along with Gadar 2, which is close to crossing the 400 crore mark.
After collecting 101.61 crore nett in India in nine days, OMG 2 took its 10 day collection to 114.31 crore after Sunday’s collection.
OMG 2 earned Rs 10.26 cr on opening day and registered its highest collection of Rs 17.1 cr on 5th day. The movie did a business of 85.05 crores on the first weekend. In its second week, OMG 2 collected 6.03 crores on Friday, 10.53 crores on Saturday and 12.70 on Sunday as per initial estimates.
Starring Akshay Kumar as a messenger of Lord Shiva, Pankaj Tripathi as a devotee of Lord Shiva, Kanti Sharan Mudgal and Yami Gautam as a lawyer, the film deals with sex education.
OMG 2 is directed by Amit Rai and produced by Viacom18 Studios, Wakao Films and Cape of Good Films.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) cleared the film for release and gave it an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certification. Recently, the cast and makers of OMG 2 shared the video of the Mahadeva track.
Akshay Kumar shared the song on Instagram and wrote, “And it’s time for my favorite track. Come Mahadev, Mahadev, Mahadev!!! The song is coming now. Sung, composed and written by Kaash, the song features Akshay.
Yami Gautam thanked the audience. Yami took to Instagram to share an old picture of herself praying to Lord Shiva and Maa Durga along with her husband-filmmaker Aditya Dhar.
