Odisha Weather: Heavy rain likely in these four districts, yellow alert issued in 16 districts

Under the influence of the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in some districts of North-West Odisha for the next 24 hours. The Zonal Center of Bhubaneswar of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has given this information. In the bulletin of the Meteorological Department, it has been said that till August 4, the process of rain will continue in the state under the influence of low pressure. The low pressure area over North Odisha from the adjoining Gangetic region of West Bengal is moving towards the South-West. Under its influence, there is a possibility of very heavy (12 to 20 cm) rain in four districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours (till Monday evening).

Yellow alert in 16 districts Ongoing

Apart from this, there may be heavy (seven to 11 cm) rains in 16 districts. An orange alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department expressing the possibility of heavy rains in Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Balangir and Bargarh during this period. Apart from this, a yellow alert has been issued expressing the possibility of heavy rains in a total of 16 districts including Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonpur, Boudh, Kalahandi and Navrangpur.

135 mm rain record in Baliguda

It is known that it is raining continuously in the interim districts of Odisha. According to the Bhubaneshwar center of the Meteorological Department, Baliguda in Kandhamal district has recorded the highest rainfall of 135 mm in the last 24 hours. Apart from this, 124.4 in Bargarh, 120 in Jujumura of Sambalpur, 114.4 in Bamda and Sambalpur, 112.2 in Sundergarh, 105.4 in Phirigiya of Kandhamal, 103.4 in Laikara of Jharsuguda district, 82.2 in Kantamal of Boudh district, 80 in Kotgarh of Kandhamal, K Nuagaon 75.2 mm of rain has been recorded in Kutra of Sundergarh district, 72.2 mm in Dhankauda of Sambalpur and 66 mm in Phulbani of Kandhamal district.
