Jharkhand News: A review meeting of the Rural Development Department was held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. In this meeting, Secretary, Rural Development Department, Chandrashekhar said that the implementation of schemes related to MNREGA should be done in a better and planned manner. MNREGA is a multidimensional scheme, under which many schemes related to employment, housing, drinking water, women empowerment, irrigation, roads, plantation etc. are being implemented. There should be more focus on creating man days under MNREGA, so that more and more people can get employment in rural areas.

MNREGA is an integrated form of many schemes

Addressing the officers, Secretary, Rural Development Department, Chandrashekhar said that there are many challenges before the districts. They also have to take immediate decisions according to time and circumstances. In such a situation, you should take your decisions in such a way that maximum residents of the state get its benefit. MNREGA is an integrated form of many schemes. With this, a large population of rural areas can be benefitted. Said that in some areas the districts have made good achievements. In such a situation, where the pace of development is slow, all concrete steps should be taken to speed it up.

Continuous monitoring of schemes

He said that many schemes are being implemented by the Rural Development Department. Separate dash boards should be made for these schemes. There should be complete information about the schemes on the dashboard. It is said that the members of the mission team nominated for intensive supervision of the schemes run by the Rural Development Department in the state and for providing continuous guidance to the districts, should visit the area and continuously monitor the schemes because this campaign will continue.

Better result of new schemes taken under MNREGA

It was informed in the meeting that Nilambar-Pitabar Jal Samriddhi Yojana, Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, Veer Shaheed Poto Ho Khel Vikas Yojana and Didi Bari Yojana taken in the year 2022-23 under MNREGA have got better results. Under the Nilambar-Pitamber Jal Samriddhi Yojana, a target of one lakh hectare was kept, while the scheme was implemented in 1.94 lakh hectare. At the same time, 1881 sports grounds have been built against the target of developing 26 thousand acres as compared to 20 thousand acres under Birsa Green Village Scheme, one thousand grounds like Veer Shaheed Poto Ho Khel Vikas Yojana. At the same time, under the Didi Bari scheme, a target has been set to make five lakh nutrition gardens.

Secretary of Rural Development Department gave guidelines

– All the districts should have IEC activity for the schemes of the Rural Development Department.

Under MNREGA, in the financial year 2022-23, 2223.82 crore has been given for payment of wages, 715.33 crore for expenditure on material and administrative items.

In MNREGA, the target was set to generate 900 lakh man-days in the financial year 2022-23, against which the state created 915.42 lakh man-days.

– 47.53 percent participation of women in Manav Divas created under MNREGA

– Under the Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Awas Yojana run by the state government, the target is to construct 47855 houses. Out of these, the construction work of 39836 houses has been completed, which is 83 percent of the target.

Departmental officers including Joint Secretary Shailprabha Kujur, Joint Secretary Arun Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary Jitendra Kumar Dev, Under Secretary Arun Kumar Sinha were present in the meeting.
