Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that land burial should be done instead of floating the dead body in rivers. The officers should work to motivate people for this. The CM reviewed the progress made in Jal Jeevan Mission and Namami Gange project in a high-level meeting at his official residence on Monday. The Chief Minister has given instructions to provide piped drinking water facility to the rest of the houses and to complete the work in a phased manner in a time-bound manner, under the efforts to provide tap water to every household.
Dirty water did not fall in the rivers
The Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board should ensure strict compliance of the standards of emitted effluents by closely monitoring tannery and other industrial effluents. Cleanliness of rivers is not possible without public cooperation. People should be made aware for this. The dead body should be motivated to give land burial instead of flowing in the rivers.
Pure drinking water provided to 2.65 crore rural families
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that with the resolve of ‘Har Ghar Nal-Har Ghar Jal’, a grand campaign is going on to provide pure drinking water to 2.65 crore rural families of the state. Before the start of Jal Jeevan Mission, only 5.16 lakh families had access to pure drinking water from the tap. Due to continuous efforts, till now the dream of pure drinking water has come true for more than 01 crore 30 lakh families. In the financial year 2022-23 itself, 59.38 lakh connections have been made.
CM Kanpur angry over delay in Baniyapur STP
The CM has asked to keep all the STPs installed in the state functional, to start the non-compliant i.e. non-functional STPs immediately. CM said that there should be no delay in commissioning of Baniapur STP under UP Jal Nigam (Urban) in Kanpur.
