Uttarakhand News: There is now a ban on purchasing land for agriculture and horticulture in Uttarakhand. State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken this decision after a high-level meeting. However, this ban has been imposed for the time being. In fact, there is a ban on buying land by outsiders in the state till the final report of the five-member committee constituted by CM Dhani regarding the new land law is submitted. The government has instructed the District Magistrates not to allow people from outside the state to propose to buy land for agriculture and horticulture.

In the high-level meeting, CM Dhami instructed the officials that a large-scale public hearing should be organized by the committee formed for land law. He said that the opinion of people and experts from various fields should also be taken in this work. He has also instructed the DMs of all the districts not to allow people from outside the state to buy land for agriculture and horticulture work till further orders. Dhami government says that all these decisions are being taken keeping in mind the interest of the people of the state.

It is noteworthy that a drafting committee has been constituted by the state government to prepare a new land law for Uttarakhand. In this context, CM Dhami has directed that the draft should be made as soon as possible.
