Patna. Ara’s engineer son Prashant Kumar has prepared a house boat from local resources to give the fun of Kashmir in Bihar. In a floating house equipped with modern facilities above the river Ganga, you can enjoy the experience of Dal Lake like a house boat. This floating house is made using natural materials, which makes one feel warm inside the house in winter season and cool in summer season.
This house was built at a cost of Rs 6 lakh
This house boat, built in typical Bihari style to adapt to climate change, has been built in Mahuli, just 15 kilometers away from Ara headquarters. It can be seen floating on the banks of Ganga. To promote eco-tourism, engineer Prashant Kumar and his team have built this beautiful house boat. Engineer Prashant Kumar told local journalists that this house boat has been built at a cost of about Rs 6 lakh. His team is now working on a plan to build some such boats for Rs 1 lakh to 1.5 lakh.
This house is made from natural things
Engineer Prashant Kumar told that all the resources in this are natural and local. Many natural materials like bricks made from cow dung, straw, clay, Surkhi Chuna and bamboo bats have been used in it. The inside and outside decorations of the house have been beautifully decorated with the help of handmade crafts. This house boat floating in water has two large thatched rooms equipped with modern facilities.

Engineer Prashant Kumar said that keeping in mind the food habits of a large family, a large courtyard has been built in this house boat along with an excellent kitchen and a bio toilet equipped with a motor pump. About 6 to 7 people can live comfortably in this howboat. This house can also be located in the middle of river Ganga. He said that from safety point of view this house boat is completely as per the standards. Due to multidrum technology the chances of drowning are negligible.
Crowd gathered to see the floating house boat
A huge crowd of people is gathering at Mahuli Ganga Ghat to see this floating house boat in Arrah, Bihar. This has become a topic of discussion for the people. There is a queue of people in front of this house to take selfies and make reels. Regarding giving the house on rent, Prashant says that nothing has been thought of yet. My motive for making it was floods and tourism. From tourism point of view, there is a plan to use it as eco-tourism. This regard has also been discussed with the government and its officials and assurance has also been given by them in this regard.
