He told that after the departure of the train from Buxar, we were preparing to sleep on the bed. After some time suddenly a voice came. It seemed that now we are not going to survive. There was screaming in the bogie. Darkness prevailed. No one could understand what happened. Moni was traveling in M-2 bogie. The bogie had turned in such a way that its doors were closed. We kept shouting for a long time. Many people were crying and reaching out to their loved ones to inquire about their well-being.

Everyone’s belongings were scattered here and there. Moni’s mother got injured on her forehead. He could get first aid facility about two hours after the accident. He said that we had boarded the train to go to the village but something else was about to happen. She was continuously crying for her belongings. Moni and her mother were taken out by breaking the glass of the bogie. According to Moni, police personnel and village people helped in evacuating the passengers. Moni said that the co-passengers of his bogie are safe.

But many have been injured. A passenger named Rahmat said that after the train overturned, all the passengers were very scared. At first it seemed as if someone had attacked the train. But when we regained our composure, we came to know that many coaches of the train had overturned. There was huge chaos on the spot. Since it was night, we had no idea what to do. After a long time, when the local people and the police team arrived, we were taken out.

People from nearby villages ran to help

Deepak Kumar, a resident of Rohil Chhapra village of Shahpur block, said that as soon as he got information about the train accident, we reached the spot on bike. Many people of the village came together. People from other villages were also reaching the spot. When we reached the spot, there was chaos there. To get the people out, we broke the glass of the train and pulled out the people trapped inside. According to Deepak, about five thousand people from the surrounding villages had arrived to help the passengers in trouble. According to him, his team sent about sixty people to hospitals with the help of ambulances. He said that due to night, the police are also facing difficulty in carrying out relief and rescue operations.
