The train must have covered a distance of about half an hour from Buxar when there was a loud noise. As soon as they heard the sound, all the passengers became alert. The next moment he found himself falling inside the bogie. A passenger said that there was a loud noise from the train and many coaches overturned. Some went derailed. Didn’t even get a chance to understand it. Screaming sounds started coming from everywhere. Many people were trying to get out of the compartment but their doors were locked. They were trying to push the door open. But when it did not open, his frustration was increasing.

The sound of screaming women and elderly people started coming from every bogie. People were not able to understand what happened suddenly? He was calling for help. But for some time before the incident, the passengers were consoling each other. An official said that the incident happened at Raghunathpur station but if the incident had happened at a secluded place, then more problems would have been faced. Due to the station being there, there was not much delay in starting the relief and rescue work. Station officials informed the local administration. After this, teams of officers started arriving from Raghunathpur, Dumraon, Buxar, Shahpur, Arrah. By then, a large number of common people had gathered at the spot and started the work of evacuating the people trapped in the compartment.

A large number of passengers were taken out by breaking the glass windows of different coaches. An eyewitness said that calls for help were coming from every compartment. The screams of women and children were heart-wrenching. Everyone was asking for help. In order to reserve 50 beds for the injured in PMCH emergency, the emergency patients were shifted to Hathua ward at 12 o’clock in the night. To bring back the safe passengers of the accident train, a special train left from Danapur Junction at 12 o’clock in the night. At 1.30 pm it left for Danapur with passengers from Raghunathpur. 10 beds each were reserved in IGIMS and AIIMS and 50 beds were reserved in PMCH.
