Nitish Kumar’s government will give Rs 2 lakh each to the poor, Cabinet approves the decision

Patna. The coalition government of Nitish government has taken a big decision on Tuesday. The government will give Rs 2 lakh each to about 94 lakh families of Bihar. This money will be available in three installments. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had announced this after the caste census was conducted a few months ago. He had said that all the poor families of Bihar will be given Rs 2 lakh each. Today this has been approved by the Bihar Cabinet.

Cabinet approves Bihar Small Entrepreneur Scheme

After getting approval from Bihar Cabinet, now this Bihar Small Entrepreneur Scheme has been implemented. Under this scheme, poor families will be given assistance of Rs 2 lakh from the government for employment. Poor people of all categories like General, SC, ST, OBC, EBC will get its benefit. Now the process of taking applications for this scheme will be started by the state government. After receiving the applications, those people who are to get the money will be selected through lottery.

This is how you will get money

The decision of Bihar Cabinet states that according to caste based calculation, the number of economically poor families in the state is more than 94 lakh. The state government is to give a maximum grant of Rs 2.00 lakh in three installments for employment to at least one member of every poor family in 05 years, so that they will be able to improve the economic condition of their family by setting up an enterprise. And the unemployment rate can be reduced.

Plan implemented for five years

While giving cabinet related information, it has been informed that the State Council of Ministers has approved the proposal of “Bihar Small Entrepreneur Scheme”. The government has implemented this scheme for 5 years from the year 2023-24. The Cabinet has approved to spend two hundred and fifty crore rupees in this financial year i.e. 2023-24 and a symbolic expenditure of one thousand crore rupees in the year 2024-25. That means, approval has been given to spend a total amount of one thousand two hundred and fifty crore rupees.

94 lakh families will get two lakh rupees in five years

According to the caste census report of Bihar government, there are 94 lakh 33 thousand 312 families in Bihar whose monthly income is less than Rs 6000. The government has considered such families as poor. Bihar Small Entrepreneur Scheme has been implemented for these families, but all the 94 lakh poor families will not get the money together. The government has said that money will be given to all the families one by one in five years. Only one person from each family will be given the benefit of this scheme. But no person will be given Rs 2 lakh at one go. The government has decided that Rs 2 lakh will be given to any beneficiary in three installments.

Selection will be done by lottery

This scheme will be implemented through the Industries Department. After receiving applications for money, beneficiaries will be selected through lottery. Beneficiaries will be selected every year through lottery and all families will be given the benefits of this scheme in five years. The government is saying that the objective of this scheme is that one person from every poor family can start a business with Rs 2 lakh. This will improve the economic condition of their family and they will come out of poverty.
