Electronic visa issuance resumes

India had initially suspended its visa services for Canada, but relaxed it a little after a month. Last week, India resumed issuing electronic visas for Canadian citizens. The interview of India’s High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma came on CTV News on Sunday. However, in this interview he said that relations between the two countries are better than two months ago. India’s decision to expel a Canadian diplomat was taken in spirit. The Indian High Commissioner said the move to strip diplomatic immunity from dozens of other diplomats in October was largely for parity, so that the same number of Canadian diplomats could remain in India as were posted in Canada.
