NIA summons Trinamool Congress applicant in explosive recovery case

Birbhum, Mukesh Tiwari: In connection with the recovery of explosives on a large scale in Birbhum, West Bengal, the NIA has summoned Manoj Ghosh, a stone dealer in Birbhum’s Nalhati and Trinamool Congress’s candidate in the panchayat elections, for questioning. He has been asked to come to the NIA office as soon as possible to record his statement. Only after receiving the notice of summons, there has been a stir among the leaders and workers of the Trinamool Congress in the area. The Trinamool camp claims that it is nothing but a political conspiracy.

NIA had conducted a raid operation in Nalhati

It is being told that on Wednesday, the NIA suddenly raided Bahadurpur in Nalhati. During this, the stone quarry of Trinamool Congress Gram Panchayat candidate Manoj Ghosh was searched. The search continued till 3.30 pm. According to NIA sources, Manoj Ghosh’s manager Partha Kumar Mandal was present in the office at that time. After interrogation, the NIA team raided a room built in a deserted place behind the office, and a weapon and cartridges were recovered from there. After searching for a total of eight and a half hours, the NIA seized gelatin sticks, detonators and firearms in two bags and left. After this the NIA team sealed both the rooms.

Special team of state police arrested a big gang

It is being told that most of the stone quarries in Nalhati area are running without government permission. It was found in the investigation that the illegal business was carried out by exploding the stones of the mine with gelatin and detonators. A few days ago, a special team of the state police had arrested a big gang smuggling explosives in that area. Later, the NIA team took over the investigation.
