NIA raid in Barni village of Dhanrua, many documents including two weapons recovered

Patna. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday conducted raids against the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) in four states including Bihar. The house of Pramod Pandey of village Barni of Dhanrua police station area of ​​Patna district in Bihar was raided. Here the NIA team took Pramod Pandey’s son Sonu Pandey into their custody, searched the house and arrested him. In the four-hour-long raid, the NIA recovered two illegal weapons, incriminating equipment and several documents, cash and jewelery along with an Indian Army uniform.

According to the information, NIA had registered a case under various sections on October 11, 2023 after getting information about financing of terrorist activities through extortion by PLFI cadres. After that, after gathering the facts, a strategy was made for the raid. In Bihar, the team was led by NIA DSP Mahendra Singh Rana. The NIA team took Sonu with them.

Sonu is a cadre and supporter of PLFI

The accused and suspects against whom NIA took action on Friday are all cadres and supporters of PLFI, a banned terrorist organization in Jharkhand. They are involved in conspiracies to carry out violent incidents and terrorist activities. There are also cases related to extortion and levy collection. In this regard, Sonu of Barni village is also named in the FIR filed by NIA.

The plan was to revive PLFI by raising funds.

The NIA investigation so far has revealed that cadres of the banned organization were involved in raising funds through extortion from coal traders, transporters, railway contractors and traders. They were also conspiring to carry out various terrorist activities including attacks on security forces, murder, arson and use of explosives and IEDs to create terror in the society.

Conspiracy to revive and expand

According to the investigation conducted so far, apart from collecting levy, PLFI cadre were also involved in other activities like purchasing of arms and ammunition. Investigation has also revealed that PLFI leaders, cadre and supporters are in Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Others were plotting to revive and expand the organization in PLFI affected states.

Attacked 23 places across the country

Making a raid strategy based on facts, the NIA team on Friday simultaneously raided 23 places across the country. All the accused and suspects against whom action was taken today are said to be cadres and supporters of PLFI, a banned terrorist organization in Jharkhand.
