NIA Action: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday attached two floors of a school building in Pune, Maharashtra. It was told that the camp was organized here by the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) to spread extremism. Muslim youths were educated in the camp. Also, they were being trained to carry out targeted killings and attacks against leaders and organizations of a particular community.

Attached to the fourth and fifth floors

The two floors were attached by the NIA as proceeds of terrorism under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 in a case registered by the agency on April 13 last year. The NIA had filed a charge sheet against 20 accused, including PFI, before a special court in Delhi on March 18 this year. The move comes after the NIA carried out its search operation on two floors of the school premises on September 22 last year. During the search operation, incriminating documents were seized from the school premises, which revealed that the property was used by the accused, who had PFI links. The training camps served as a platform to incite innocent Muslim youth against the government as well as leaders and organizations of a particular community. The camps were also used to incite their passions and incite them to adopt violent Jihad with the aim of making them terrorists.

This important information came out in the investigation of NIA

Newly recruited PFI cadres were trained to use dangerous weapons like knives, sickles etc to attack and kill prominent leaders who opposed the organization’s ideology of establishing Islamic rule in India, NIA said . It was revealed earlier by the NIA investigation that the accused persons were part of a criminal conspiracy to establish Khilafat and Islamic rule in India by waging war against the country and overthrowing the democratically elected government. All of them were identified as senior cadre of PFI, NEC members, accountants, authorized signatories of bank accounts of PFI, the agency said. Investigation is underway to ascertain the role of other accused persons and suspects in the case. The NIA is probing the activities of the PFI, which was declared an unlawful association in September 2022.
