NIA arrests CPI Maoist’s Politburo member Binod Mishra from Dhanbad

Dhanbad: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a Maoist wanted for conspiring to revive and strengthen the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) from Dhanbad district of Jharkhand. NIA informed in a statement on Thursday that Binod Mishra alias Vinod Mishra is a member of the Politburo of CPI (Maoist) and was absconding. He has been arrested in this sequence.

NIA has informed that Binod Mishra has been arrested by a team of the agency from Dhansar area of ​​Dhanbad district of Jharkhand. According to the statement, NIA had received information about his hiding in Dhanbad. The agency has said in a statement that the NIA has arrested an absconding accused of conspiring to revive and strengthen the banned CPI (Maoist) in the Magadha region of Bihar. Binod Mishra has been named in an FIR related to the case and he was absconding for the last eight months. According to the NIA investigation, Binod Mishra is a close associate and distant relative of the Northern Region Bureau Chief and Politburo member of CPI (Maoist) and had given shelter to senior members of the organization in his house.

According to the NIA statement, the NIA is investigating the case from August 31, 2023 and till now, Politburo member Pramod Mishra alias Sohan Da alias Banwari Ji alias Bibi Ji alias Baba and CPI (Maoist) sub-area committee member Anil Yadav. Charge sheet has been filed against alias Ankush alias Lavkush. Both were previously arrested in this case. According to the agency, Bihar Police had registered a case after the arrest of both of them from Vinod Mishra’s house on August 10 last year. Both of them were conspiring to revive and strengthen the banned militant organization in Magadha region. Gaya and Aurangabad districts fall in Magadh region.
