The investigating agencies took swift action in Bihar on Thursday. In the capital Patna, different teams of the Income Tax Department conducted raids, while in Bhagalpur also an Income Tax raid took place. Whereas NIA also raided in Bhagalpur itself. These three actions remained in the headlines throughout the day. Income Tax Department and NIA had started raiding all the places early in the morning. Income tax raids were conducted at the premises of a property dealer in Bhagalpur and the owner of Urmila Infotech in Patna. At the same time, NIA team raided the house of Rangra Chowk block chief in Bhagalpur.
Income tax raid in Patna
In Bihar, Income Tax and NIA took swift action on Thursday. The first information came out from the capital Patna where the Income Tax Department team simultaneously raided two locations of Urmila Infotech owner Avinash Kumar Singh. Simultaneous raids started at the residence of Avinash Kumar Singh in Khajpura and the office of Technology Park in Pataliputra Colony, which created panic.
Income tax raid in Bhagalpur also
Here, in Bhagalpur also the Income Tax Department team came early in the morning and started raiding. The Income Tax team had reached the house of property dealer Shankar Yadav in Housing Board Colony of Barari police station area. An Income Tax team reached Bhagalpur from Patna and raided Shankar Yadav’s house early in the morning. The raid continued till the time of writing the news. The Income Tax team was conducting raids inside while a large number of security forces were deployed outside. During the raid, a note counting machine was first called for. Later an empty box was also ordered. Due to which it started being speculated that huge cash might have been recovered inside. However, the Income Tax Department has not yet made any disclosure on this.
NIA raid in Bhagalpur
On Thursday, NIA team also raided Bhagalpur. The NIA team reached the house of Moti Yadav, chief of Rangra Chowk block under police district Navgachia, around 4 am in the morning. The NIA team had brought the house search warrant with it. Moti Yadav’s entire house was searched. The NIA team returned after raiding for about 10 hours. Local police was also present on the spot during this period. Whereas Moti Yadav was not present in the house at that time. NIA searched the house in the presence of his wife and brother. All these raids continued simultaneously in Bihar on Thursday.
