A new twist has come in the case of murder of Maheshwar Rai by strangulation in Fafaut village of Khodavandpur police station of Begusarai. The reason behind Maheshwar Rai’s murder is said to be his wife’s illicit relationship. Earlier it was being said that the wife killed her husband after he refused to make the reel. This incident of murder was carried out by the wife and her lover together. The police disclosed the matter within 24 hours and arrested the accused wife. Besides, the sister-in-law of the deceased is also being detained and interrogated. At the same time, continuous raids are being conducted to arrest her lover Shahzad.
Order to conduct speedy trial
SP Yogendra Kumar said in this regard that charge sheet will be submitted soon and orders have been given to run a speedy trial. SP told that Maheshwar Rai, son of Ram Pravesh Rai, resident of Narhan of Vibhutipur police station of Samastipur district, had come to his in-laws’ house in Fafaut village of Khodabandpur police station area. Who was murdered on the night of 7th January. In this regard, case number 05/24 has been registered in Khodabandpur police station and investigation has been started.
Formation of special team to investigate the case
Taking the incident seriously, Police Captain Begusarai formed a special team under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer Manjhaul Shyam Kishore Ranjan to uncover the incident and arrest the criminals involved. In which Police Station Head Mithilesh Kumar, Armed Forces Khodabandpur and District Intelligence Unit were included.
Accused wife admitted her involvement
SP said that while conducting information and technical research by the formed team, Rani Kumari alias Rani Raj, wife of deceased Maheshwar Rai, who was involved in this incident, has been arrested. During interrogation by the police team, the arrested accused has accepted his involvement. Along with this, she told that she has been making reels since the year 2021 and used to upload them on social media also. Not only this, the accused wife also used to chat with other boys on WhatsApp.

While talking to the boys on WhatsApp, the woman came into contact with Mo Shahzad alias Teni, resident of Narhan, Vibhutipur police station of Samastipur district and then established an illicit relationship with him. There was a dispute going on between husband and wife regarding this. In this sequence, on Sunday, January 7, the woman immediately called her husband Maheshwar Rai to her home. The husband arrived on the wife’s call and when the husband was sleeping at home, the accused wife along with her lover Shahzad murdered him by strangulating him with a blanket.
Police is also interrogating wife’s younger sister
The younger sister of the accused wife, who was present at the spot at that time, is also being detained and interrogated by the police team. The police team is continuously conducting raids to arrest lover Shahzad. Police Captain Begusarai has ordered to submit the charge sheet in this case soon and conduct a speedy trial.
