Nepal Police attacked when they came to stop dancing in the fair on Indian border, Indian citizen injured in firing

Raxaul. There was an uproar in the Mahaviri flag fair organized in Siwan Tola village located on the India-Nepal border. The organizers attacked the Nepali police who had gone to stop the dance program at around 12 o’clock in the night. Both sides attacked each other. To control the situation, Nepal Police resorted to aerial firing and also released tear gas shells. In the firing by Nepal Police, a bullet also hit the leg of Rajan Patel, a resident of Indian village Siwan Tola. On Sunday, the villagers of Siwan Tola protested against the action of Nepal Police by laying bamboo siege on the border. Besides, action was also demanded against the culprits. The effigy of Nepal Police was also burnt. Police station incharge Haraiya OP Anuj Kumar Singh told that the stampede happened on the Nepal side. There is no problem of any kind in India.

Despite the ban, the program was going on till 12 o’clock

According to the information, during the fair organized in the Nepalese territory of Siwan Tola village, the police team arrived at around 10 pm in the night and asked to stop the dance program here, but the organizing committee asked for an additional two hours of time from the Nepal Police. Went. After this the police left from there. At 12 o’clock in the night, another team of police reached there and started talking about closing the program. There was an altercation between the police and the members of the organizing committee. Within no time the situation turned violent. Amidst the crowd, both sides started attacking each other. To bring the situation under control, Nepal Police resorted to aerial firing and also released tear gas shells.

The injured is undergoing treatment in Duncan Hospital.

In the firing by Nepal Police, a bullet also hit the leg of Rajan Patel, a resident of Indian village Siwan Tola. He is being treated at Duncan Hospital. Local people claim that some other villagers have also been injured. Local people said that Nepal Police had fired four rounds. In which a bullet hit Rajan Patel’s leg. Besides, it was also alleged that Nepal Police had entered the Indian border and beaten people. Many houses also have gunshot marks.

Fair is held as per tradition

Sonelal Bhagat, ward member of Siwan Tola Ward No. 12 of Pantoka Panchayat, said that here people from both the countries have been organizing Mahaviri Fair here for centuries on the 15th day of Chhath Puja. The fair is held near the temple situated on the Nepal side. People come from far and wide to see this fair. Dances were also organized at night. This is not today’s tradition. Police action is wrong.

Siwan Tola is situated on the border

There is dense settlement on both sides of Siwan Tola village. India is towards the south and Nepal is towards the north. Even if a police patrol car goes to this village, one side of its wheel remains in India and the other side remains in Nepal. There has always been an atmosphere of love and harmony between the people of both Siwan Tolas, but everyone is opposing the action of Nepal Police.
