Prayagraj : Prayagraj CJM Court of Uttar Pradesh has issued non-bailable warrant against two professors of Allahabad University. The court has issued non-bailable warrants against Professor Javed Akhtar and Prahlad Kumar. At the same time, a warrant has also been issued against another professor Manmohan Krishna. Six years ago, a woman assistant professor of the department had lodged an FIR against all three at the Colonelganj police station for sexual harassment and under the SC-ST Act.

The female professor had alleged that Prof. Some other senior professors, including Prahlad Kumar, have a grudge against him and harass him for being from the Scheduled Caste. A case was registered against all three in 2016 under sexual exploitation and SC-ST Act.

Actually, this matter is of 4 August 2016. Deep Shikha Sonkar, Assistant Professor posted in the Economics Department of Allahabad University, alleged that Prof. of the department itself. Harassment was being done from the beginning by Prahlad Kumar and some other senior teachers because of being from Scheduled Caste. The complaint was made to the University along with the Colonelganj Police Station, the Scheduled Caste-Tribe Commission and the National Women’s Commission. After this, on August 4, 2016, these three professors called him to the Head of the Department’s office and started scolding him.

After the complaint, pressure was put on the assistant professor

Not only this, he was held hostage for an hour using caste-specific words and abusive words. Ever since I filed a complaint against my harassment, Prof. Prahlad Kumar, Prof. Manmohan Krishna and Javed Akhtar keep on pressuring them to withdraw the said complaint. They keep sending many anti-social elements to me. They keep harassing me in different ways. On the basis of this Tahrir, the Colonelganj police had registered a report and investigated. Now in this case warrant has been issued by the CJM court to all the three accused.

University inquiry committee found nothing in the investigation

Public Relations Officer of Allahabad University Dr. Jaya Kapoor told that the university had taken Deepshikha Sonkar’s complaint seriously and the complaint was immediately given to the committee (CKash) constituted as per rules by the then Vice-Chancellor. The committee had made a detailed inquiry into the matter and Dishikha’s complaint was found to be completely baseless. During this, Sonkar did not even answer the questions sent by the committee and did not present any evidence in relation to his allegations before the committee.

The committee was described as uncooperative and disobedient by Sonkar’s co-workers, while no complaint of any kind came to the notice of the conduct of all the three accused teachers. Due to his non-cooperation and not being able to give evidence in favor of his point of view, the committee found his complaint motivated by defamation of the department and its senior professors and the university.
