Naxalite Khudi Munda is married. His wife’s name is Idam Devi, who is a housewife. She also does farming. The elder son is Sukhram Munda, who is married. He lives in the village and does farming. There is the younger daughter Parvatin Mundine, who studies in class VIII in a school in Bharno.
Family members told that after Khudi Munda became a Naxalite, his family had to face a lot of trouble. Whenever something happened, the police used to reach his house. The police was appealing every time to surrender himself. Family members told that we used to persuade Khudi to surrender all the time. Today I am happy that Khudi surrendered.
Now our family will be able to live peacefully. Khudi Munda’s sister Agni Devi told that I was not even married. It was only then that my brother himself joined the Maoists. Ever since he had joined the organization, he had never come home. He has surrendered today after persuasion by the family members, due to which we are happy. After being in jail for a few days, he will be able to come home. There are three brothers including Khudi Munda, in which one brother has died.
There one brother is a drunkard. The third brother himself is shaved. Sister told that Khudi Munda’s father has died. And his mother Jamuni Devi is still alive. She is very old. He said that Khudi Munda had joined the Maoist fold after being trapped and beaten up by Chavara Oraon of Shanti Sena. In relation to Charva Uraon, it is said that he has died in the past. That’s why there is no dispute in the village now.
