National Milk Day: National Milk Day is celebrated every year on 26 November in the memory of Dr. Verghese Kurien, the father of White Revolution in India. He was born on November 26, 1921 in Kozhikode, Kerala. Dr. Kurien is famous for the dairy revolution ‘Operation Flood’, which is known as the world’s largest agricultural program. Dr. Kurien also played an important role in the establishment and success of the Amul brand. As a result of his efforts, in the year 1998, his country became the largest producer of milk, leaving America behind. In the year 2021, more than 199 million tonnes of milk was produced in our country. India’s success story in milk production was written by Dr. Verghese Kurien.
