It is noteworthy that the current and former Mayor of Kolkata and Trinamool MLA from Kamarhati appeared in the CBI court located at Bichar Bhawan on Thursday morning. Incidentally, since Thursday morning, CBI has also started searching the houses of ruling party leaders, councilors and MLAs in the districts of the state. Central agency cannot tighten grip on Trinamool: Firhad

When asked about Thursday’s CBI raid, minister and Mayor Firhad said, Amit Shah had come to the city. He may have given some instructions. But even after doing all this, BJP will not be able to establish a foothold in Bengal. They don’t have any organization. Trinamool cannot be tightened by the central agency. After this he was questioned about the allegation against BJP of insulting the national anthem. Trinamool alleged that Subhendu Adhikari was the leader of BJP MLAs at the time of the incident. Shubhendu is also an accused in the Narada case.

BJP accused of insulting the national anthem

Minister Firhad Hakim said, ‘Insulting the national anthem is a very condemnable incident. I hope that the law will follow the law in this regard and take appropriate action against the culprits. Incidentally, Trinamool had accused the BJP of disrespecting the national anthem during the ruling party’s dharna in the Assembly complex on Wednesday. Reportedly, when Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asked the MLAs involved in the protest to end the program by singing the national anthem, the BJP MLAs led by Shubhendu Adhikari raised slogans of ‘Chor-Chor’. Trinamool alleges that the national anthem has been insulted.

Complete decline of political culture: Shobhan Chatterjee

Former Kolkata Mayor and former ruling party MLA Shobhan Chatterjee had reached the court. On the CBI raid, Shobhan Chatterjee said, ‘Political culture has completely collapsed. It is noteworthy that the Narada case came to light for the first time during the 2016 assembly elections. Later in 2021, Firhad Hakim, Madan Mitra, Shobhan Chatterjee and former Kolkata Mayor late Subrata Mukhopadhyay were also arrested in this case. However, he was later released on bail. In this case, CBI did not arrest the accused nor interrogated them.
