In Motipur of Muzaffarpur, Akash shot and killed his pregnant wife Kajal, angry over not getting a Thar car as dowry. This has been revealed from the FIR lodged at Motipur police station. Neelam Devi, the mother of the deceased Kajal, has named husband Akash Kumar, father-in-law Vijay Mahato, mother-in-law Rajpati Devi, sister-in-law Priya Kumari alias Buchi Kumari, Akash Kumar’s friend Vishal Kumar and Chandrashekhar Kumar, resident of Baruraj, as accused. After registering the case, the police has started investigating the matter.

Had already threatened to kill Kajal if the vehicle is not found

On Monday, Kajal’s parents cremated her dead body at the door of her husband Akash Kumar. On receiving the information, Motipur and Baruraj police were also present at the time of the last rites. After the dead body arrived from the postmortem, the maternal uncle started creating ruckus by keeping the dead body at the door of the sky. Due to this there was an atmosphere of chaos. Everyone calmed down with the intervention of the local people. After that the dead body was cremated there. It has been said in the FIR that the vehicle and other items were given to Akash as a gift at the time of marriage. But he started demanding a Thar car in dowry. Many times he had even gone to his in-laws house Baruraj along with his friends and demanded a Thar car. Also threatened that if the vehicle was not given, he would kill Kajal.

In-laws absconded leaving the house

It has been said in the application that Akash Kumar along with his family and friends shot and killed Kajal. Kajal’s parents got information about the incident from the people around. When they reached the spot, Kajal’s body was lying in a blood-soaked condition. All the in-laws had fled away from the house. Motipur police reached the spot and sent the dead body for postmortem. Confirming the registration of the FIR, Station Officer Mukesh Kumar said that raids are being conducted to arrest the accused.
