12 people drowned in a boat accident in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. The bodies of 9 out of 12 people were found, but the bodies of three people could not be found. On Monday, the family members made effigies of the bodies of the three missing people and cremated them. Along with this, the family members have also informed the police administration and demanded compensation. Let us tell you that this boat accident took place on September 14 at Madhurpatti Bhatgaon Ghat in Beniabad OP area of ​​Muzaffarpur district. 12 people had drowned in it, out of which the bodies of nine people were recovered but the bodies of Ritesh Kumar (16), Kamini Kumari (16) and Geeta Devi (50) were not found.

Last rites were performed by making an effigy

Kamini’s father Rajesh Rai told that since the day of the boat accident, he kept searching for his daughter by setting up camps on the banks of the river at five places. The search continued in the river even by boat. Due to his efforts along with the villagers, nine bodies were recovered, but three bodies along with that of his daughter could not be recovered. The last rites of the nine bodies which were recovered earlier were performed on Monday. But since the body was not found, we have now given up hope of finding the body. After this, as per the decision of Brahmin and Mahapatra, the three missing persons were cremated by making effigies so that the departed soul can rest in peace.

The families of the three missing people should get compensation

Mukhiya Shobha Devi, MLA leader Jitendra Yadav, former Mukhiya Pramod Yadav, social worker Rahul Kumar, Bikau Yadav etc. requested the administration that the three missing people should also be given compensation under the disaster. People have informed the administration that since the bodies of the missing people were not found, the three have been cremated in effigy. For this reason, these three people are entitled to receive compensation under the disaster. CO Raghavendra Raghavan said that the senior officer has been informed about the entire situation. Further action will be taken after the instructions of the senior officer.

Children were going to fill class 10th form

Since there is no high school in Madhurpatti village, the children here cross the Bagmati river and go to Bhatgama to study at Belaur UHS School. On Thursday, all the students left for school with Rs 1100 each from home to fill the 10th class form.

Those taking ration were also on board the boat

Most of the high school children and people taking ration were on board the boat accident. Sailor Hari Kishore Sahni was taking the boat with the help of a rope tied to pull the boat. As soon as it reached Bhatgama ghat, the boat collided with the ghat and the rope broke. After this, all the children, women and elderly people aboard the boat started drowning.

32 people drowned when a boat capsized in the Bagmati river at Bhatgama Ghat in Gaighat block at 10:20 am on Thursday (September 14). 20 were saved with the help of local sailors and divers. But 12 people were not saved. Eight school students are included in this. This accident occurred due to breakage of the rope tied on both sides of the river to pull the boat. There was chaos on the spot after the incident. A crowd of hundreds of people gathered for about five kilometers on both sides of the river. At around 1 pm, the SDRF team started searching the river, but initially nothing was found due to the strong flow. DM Pranav Kumar, in-charge SSP Arvind Pratap Singh along with the entire district administration and police team were camping at the spot and monitoring the search. For this, along with NDRF, more divers were also called from Patna.
