In fact, here on Saturday, a dhaba owner was allegedly beaten to death by two of his employees for refusing to give Diwali bonus. This news has been published by the English website Times of India. It has been reported that the victim Raju Dhengre had refused to fulfill the Diwali bonus demand of the employees, due to which he was murdered. After committing the murder both of them fled. Dhengre was the former sarpanch (village head) of Surgaon village in Kuhi taluka and had recently won the gram panchayat elections. Regarding the matter, SP Harsh A Poddar said that prima facie the reason for the murder seems to be money transaction but we will investigate the matter from other angles also. He said that the matter will also be investigated from the political angle.
Dhengre was a supporter of BJP
The attackers have been identified as Chhotu and Adi, who are said to be residents of Mandla in Madhya Pradesh. According to the information given by the police, Dhengre had hired the two through a labor contractor near the Madhya Pradesh State Bus Stop in the city about a month ago. It has been reported quoting sources that Dhengre had a good hold in the area. He did not get involved in any major controversies. His family had a good image in the village. Politically connected Dhengre was a supporter of BJP. Although he won, his political clout took a hit as his rival camp had performed well in the recent gram panchayat elections.
CCTV footage surfaced
It is being told that after the murder, Chhotu and Adi had fled with Dhengre’s car, but they collided with the divider on Nagpur-Umred road near Vihirgaon, due to which both of them got injured. This accident was captured in CCTV footage in which both the attackers are seen coming out of the car and running towards Dighori Naka. He took an e-rickshaw from Dighori but after that his movements could not be traced. Police said that Dhengre had a dispute with Adi and Chhotu while having dinner together. Both were demanding money and bonus for Diwali. Dhengre promised to give him the money but after a few days…

Later Dhengre went to sleep on a cot. At this very moment, Adi and Chhotu took out a rope and strangulated him. After this, he was hit on the head with a hard object and attacked on the face with a sharp weapon. Both of them left Dhengre lying on the cot and covered his body with a quilt. After this they fled with Dhengre’s car. Another employee who was watching everything ran into the kitchen fearing for his life. It is being told that Dhengre’s daughter called repeatedly but when no response was received, she called a paan shop owner near the dhaba. The owner of the paan shop went to the dhaba where he saw the dead body of Raju Dhengre on the cot and raised an alarm.
