Now Mafia Mukhtar Ansari has been sentenced to ten years by the MP MLA Court of Ghazipur after holding him guilty in a 16 year old case of Gangster Act. Along with this, a fine of five lakh has been imposed. On the other hand, the decision on Mukhtar’s brother BSP MP Afzal Ansari will be pronounced at two o’clock.
The then BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai was murdered in 2005
Seven people including the then BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai were killed in Ghazipur in the year 2005 at Basaniya Chatti of Muhammadabad police station. In this case Afzal Ansari and Mukhtar Ansari were booked under the Gangster Act in 2007. Since then Ghazipur MP Afzal Ansari is out on bail.
Number of cases filed against Mukhtar Ansari
Mukhtar Ansari is such a name in the world of Jarayam, whose terror persists even after being inside the jail. Former Bahubali MLA Mukhtar Ansari is in jail for the last 18 years. Despite this, his name often remains in headlines for one reason or the other.
Till now many cases of murder have been registered against Mukhtar while in jail in various police stations of Ghazipur, Varanasi, Mau and Azamgarh. Thus, a total of 61 cases are registered against Mukhtar Ansari, who is about 60 years old. Most of these cases are registered in his home district Ghazipur. In January, the 61st case was registered in the Usri Chatti murder case in Muhammadabad police station area of his home district.
Mukhtar stepped into politics after being a big name in the world of crime
In fact, at one time Ghazipur emerged as the focal point in the crime of Purvanchal. At the same time, in the 90s, the names of other criminals including Mukhtar Ansari started spreading in Ghazipur and nearby districts. Many gangs were formed in this. They also had enmity with each other. On the other hand, being a big name in the world of crime, Mukhtar Ansari stepped into politics and contested the assembly elections for the first time in 1996 and won.
After this, till 2017, he defeated his opponents five times in a row. Mukhtar Ansari was always in headlines due to his politics first with BSP, then independent and later with his own party Qaumi Ekta Dal. In the year 2022, keeping distance from politics, he fielded his son Abbas Ansari and he also won. However, like father Mukhtar, MLA son Abbas Ansari is also currently behind bars.
Mukhtar Ansari’s grandfather was a freedom fighter
The special thing is that before Mukhtar Ansari there was no criminal background in his family. His family was counted as a big political family. Mukhtar’s grandfather Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed Ansari was a freedom fighter. But instead of carrying forward his legacy, Mukhtar Ansari thought it better to gain fame in the world of crime.

Despite being inside the jail, Mukhtar Ansari carried out many incidents in the world of crime through operatives. At the same time, after the formation of the Yogi Adityanath government in 2017, the screws started tightening on it. Mukhtar Ansari has been kept in Banda Jail after being brought from Punjab Jail to UP. At the same time, his property worth several hundred crores has been seized and demolished in Mau, Ghazipur and Lucknow.
