Mukhtar Ansari sentenced to 10 years, Ghazipur MP-MLA court gives verdict in teacher’s murder

Mukhtar Ansari Case: Ghazipur MP-MLA Court has sentenced gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari to 10 years imprisonment. The court had convicted Ansari on Thursday in the famous case of murder of 14-year-old teacher Kapil Dev Singh. Mukhtar Ansari has been sentenced for the sixth time in the last 13 months. Ansari has been found guilty in six different cases. In both the Kapil Dev Singh and Mir Hasan cases, a case was registered against Mukhtar Ansari under the Gangster Act. Kapil Dev Singh lived in Suapur village of Karanda police station area in Ghazipur. He was a teacher by profession and was quite famous in his field. After retirement, he lived with his family in the village. In the year 2009, the police took action to attach the house of a powerful person in the village. In case of need of making a list of confiscated goods and needing a common witness, people advised to call retired teacher Kapil Dev Singh. On the request of the police, Kapil Dev Singh reached the attachment site and helped in making the list as a witness. During this period he cooperated a lot with the police. Due to this, Dabang’s family became very angry. He did not like Kapil Dev Singh helping the police and being active during the seizure.

A case was registered under Gangster Act in the year 2010

It is said that Dabangg’s family present at the spot felt that Kapil Dev Singh was in collusion with the police and it was he who had informed about those people. After this, Kapil Dev Singh was murdered as part of a conspiracy. At the time of this incident, mafia Mukhtar Ansari was running his gang while being lodged in jail. In the year 2009 itself, Mir Hasan of Muhammadabad police station area had filed a case of attempt to murder against Mukhtar Ansari. Mukhtar Ansari’s name was not included in the initial FIR of this murder. Later, when the investigating officer found many evidences during the investigation, on the basis of which Mukhtar Ansari’s name was added to the charge sheet. After this, by combining the Kapil Dev Singh murder case and Mir Hasan case, a case was registered against Mukhtar Ansari under the Gangster Act in the year 2010. Mukhtar Ansari has already been acquitted in the original case of the much talked about Kapil Dev Singh murder case.

Assets worth Rs 300 crore of Ansari and his gang seized: DG Prashant

Special Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar said that Ansari was earlier convicted by the Varanasi MP/MLA court on June 5. He was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Awadhesh Rai, elder brother of UP Congress chief Ajay Rai. A few weeks ago, the Enforcement Directorate had attached land, a building and bank deposits worth more than Rs 73.43 lakh as part of a money laundering probe against Mukhtar Ansari. The total registered value of these properties is Rs 73,43,900. Notably, the state police has so far seized assets worth more than Rs 300 crore of Ansari and his gang members under the provisions of the Gangster Act. Kumar said, property worth Rs 284.77 lakh was demolished and illegal encroachments were freed from Ansari and his people.
